Sully’s Safe Haven
Exciting news! We have “rebranded” our sanctuary program to have a focus on taking in hedgehogs. As most of the hedgehogs we have taken in have been 3+ years old and with medical concerns, we have decided that instead of having them adjust to yet another home, that we will be their forever home, through our furever fosters and hospice homes.
Just in 2022, we have had hedgehogs treated for mites, one hedgehog treated for a limp, and one hedgehog spayed due to unknown bleeding. And as our first personal hedgehog mascot had passed away in 2021, we wanted to do this in his honor. Although this sanctuary is focused on hedgehogs, it is our sanctuary for all species. We also specialize in taking in aggressive hamsters and have two currently in our sanctuary, as well as a few other babes. |
Meet the residents! |
*some are still looking for forever placement or adoption.*
|
Meet Creamy! This girl is around 4-5 years old. She was rehomed as her owner was moving and unable to continue caring for her. She has history of dry skin issues and was recently spayed due to unexpected bleeding from her genitals. She has since recovered and is living out her best days.
|
Meet Spike! This antisocial grumpy boy is 3-4 years old and was surrendered due to not being hand tame. On occasion, we’ve been able to get him to take worms from us and he tolerates getting baths and nail trims. He spends his time hunting for worms and loves running on his wheel all night long.

Meet Beatrice! This overweight beauty was surrendered to us after her previous owner's children lost interest in her. She was living in a tiny cage, improper lighting, and no enrichment. She is between 4-5 years old. She now runs on her wheel all night and we hope this helps her lose more weight.
|
Meet Emma! Emma is around 14-15 years old and was rescued from living outdoors. She struggles with allergies and has to take medication for the rest of her life. She does not do well with other animals and her foster home gives her her own room to do what she wants in.
|
Meet Squint! Squint was deemed blind when he initially came into the care. He was severely neglected and his owner was giving him away for $7 on Craigslist. He is estimated 4-5 years old. He struggles to eat independently and often we have to hand feed him. He is currently looking for a forever foster home.
|
Meet Blu! Blu was transferred to us from Munchie's Place. Blu's mom was pregnant when she was purchased at a local pet store, and the whole litter faced some health challenges. Blu is a brachycephalic hamster who requires monthly teeth trimmings; he is about 1.5 years old. His foster mom loves watching him stuff his cheeks with his dinner.

How do I become a furever foster?
If you are experienced and want to open up your home to an animal in need, consider being a furever foster for a special needs animal! This allows animals to not only recieve the socialization and care they need for their lifetime, but you would have continued support from our rescue to ensure their needs are met. Email us at sullysafehaven@gmail.com if you have any questions or fill out a foster application below! |
